Ephrata, Pennsylvania (August 11, 2018) – A man cutting grass along a road in Ephrata Township was struck and injured by a vehicle on Friday evening, according to the Ephrata Police Department.

The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. Friday, August 10, in the 100 block of Hahnstown Road.

Police said a 69-year-old man was cutting grass on the edge of the road when a driver traveling northbound hit on their brakes, then drove off.

James Oxenbreider, 52, of Lancaster was traveling behind the vehicle and swerved to avoid a crash. Oxenbreider ended up striking a sign and the pedestrian mowing grass.

The victim was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.

The Ephrata police are investigating the incident.
