Kevin Thompson Dies in Westmoreland County Motorcycle Accident at SR 380 and SR 819
Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania (August 12, 2018) – One person was killed and another hospitalized after a crash involving a motorcycle and a car on Saturday afternoon in Westmoreland County.
The incident happened shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday, August 11, at SR 380 and SR 819.
According to the state police, Kevin R. Thompson, 45, of North Huntington Township, was driving a motorcycle southbound on SR 819 when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and crashed into a Camaro traveling westbound on SR 380.
The impact of the crash ejected Thompson and his passenger.
Police said Thompson was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 41-year-old woman, was airlifted to a hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver of the car was not hurt.
The State Police are investigating the accident.
