Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (February 25, 2018) – One person was killed while six others were injured when two vehicles collided on Saturday afternoon in Lancaster County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The fatal wreck took place at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 24, near Route 472 and Spruce Grove Road in Colerain Township.

Police said a Honda minivan was traveling northbound on Route 472 when the driver tried to overtake a box truck using the southbound travel lane and collided head-on with an oncoming Toyota truck after the two drivers drifted into a field in an attempt to avoid a crash.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Six others were taken to hospital with injuries.

The state police are conducting an investigation.
